CIMA Master’s Gateway: Fast-tracking your way to CIMA success

According to top industry publication Accountancy Age, fully qualified finance professionals earn an average of £64,220, an impressive £18,246 per annum more than un-qualified professionals.*

From these statistics, one thing is clear: education is key in a competitive financial labour market.

Having a masters in finance and a recognisable professional qualification, such as the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA)’s Chartered Global Management Accountant designation, will help your CV stand out. Together, they will give you the knowledge to work in senior board-level positions, make big decisions, drive organisations forward and help your career – and your pay packet – flourish.

Your education and qualifications will tell the world that you’re a trusted business strategist who has a commitment to professional ethics and driving sustainable success, connected to the pulse of your profession.

Can you fast track CIMA?

The journey to achieving CIMA’s Professional Qualification can be notoriously long and challenging. Alone, it can take students up to six years to complete the series of exams and assessments needed to achieve the prestigious Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation and become a CIMA member.

However, the good news is that by graduating with an online masters in finance from Manchester Met, one of CIMA’s dedicated Learning Quality Partners, you will be able to fast-track your journey to becoming a Chartered Management Accountant.*

Introducing the CIMA Masters Gateway

As a graduate of our a Global Online Masters in Finance and Strategy, you will be eligible to join the CIMA Masters Gateway – an accelerated route designed specifically for MBA and masters graduates. The route will allow you to sit the CIMA Masters Gateway examination after you complete your degree and – once you have successfully passed it – you will be granted an impressive 11 exemptions from the CIMA Professional Qualification.

You will then progress straight on to the Strategic Level of the qualification. You will need to pass just three Objective Tests and one Strategic Case Study Exam in order to qualify as a Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Is the CIMA Gateway exam hard?

Earning CIMA’s Professional Qualification can be challenging – both the examination itself and the time and effort required to prepare for this. However, this is the very reason CIMA-qualified professionals are so sought after in the industry.

For many employers, this globally recognised qualification validates your skills in management accounting, and as mentioned, increases your chances of attaining higher salaries than the industry average.
